Help Us Save Hallowed Ground: Preserve 7.2 Acres of the Bethesda Church Battlefield

Dear Friends of History and Honor,

We are reaching out with a solemn and urgent plea.

A 7.2-acre tract of sacred American soil—part of the Bethesda Church battlefield in Virginia—is under immediate threat of development. This land witnessed the fierce and tragic struggles of the Battle of Bethesda Church in 1864, where Union and Confederate soldiers gave their lives in the brutal final weeks of the Overland Campaign.

Now, over 160 years later, bulldozers and concrete threaten to erase what time has preserved.

This is hallowed ground, where blood was shed by Americans on both sides of the conflict. It is our duty to remember, protect, and honor their sacrifice—not allow it to be buried beneath asphalt and housing lots. Once developed, this land and its stories will be lost forever.

We have a rare and fleeting opportunity to purchase and protect these 7.2 acres. Every dollar you give will go directly toward securing this historic land and keeping it safe from commercial destruction.

We need your help. Whether you’re a student of history, a descendant of those who fought, or simply someone who believes in preserving our nation’s past, your contribution can make a real difference.

Please join us in this sacred mission to preserve the memory, the meaning, and the land itself.
